See your real net cost before you commit.

Use the calculator to set expectations with April 2026 rules, then move into a real quote once the panel, parking setup, and permit path are clear.

The calculator is directional. It assumes no Washington sales-tax break, and real quotes still depend on panel capacity, routing distance, and city permit scope.

Plan around current incentives, not expired ones.

Adjust the inputs to see a planning range based on the current federal home-charger credit window, no Washington EV charger sales-tax relief, and conditional local utility rebates.

What the calculator assumes in April 2026.

30%
Federal Tax Credit

This calculator treats the 30C home credit as a potential credit only, capped at $1,000, with the property needing to be placed in service by June 30, 2026 at a main home in an eligible census tract.

0%
WA EV Tax Relief

Washington's EV charger sales and use tax exemption expired on July 1, 2025. This calculator assumes no state tax savings.

$500
Local Utility Rebate

Utility rebates are treated as conditional planning offsets only. Actual availability depends on provider territory, funding, equipment, and income-screening rules in effect when you apply.

What the calculator doesn't cover.

Is the federal credit a rebate or a tax credit?
It's a nonrefundable tax credit, it reduces your tax liability dollar-for-dollar, but you won't get a check. You need to owe at least that much in federal taxes to use the full amount.
Can I still count on Washington EV charger tax savings?
No. The Washington EV charger sales and use tax exemption expired on July 1, 2025, so this calculator assumes zero state tax relief.
Does everyone qualify for the federal credit?
No. This is a potential nonrefundable tax credit, not a cash rebate. The charger has to be placed in service by June 30, 2026 at a main home in an eligible census tract, and you still need enough federal tax liability to use it.
Why does the calculator give a range?
Because the real cost depends on your specific panel, parking setup, run length, utility territory, and city permit fees. The upper end assumes no conditional incentives. The lower end assumes the federal credit and a local rebate both work in your favor.
